New Years Resolution

I wonder what the percentage of people that make the resolutions even keep them?  Personally I never make resolutions.  I think it's a waste of time and yet just another way to make me feel worse by not keeping to something I've said. 

People typically make resolutions like lose weight, drink less, be a better spouse, be a better parent, clean more, eat healthier...

Those are all well and good, but why wait until January 1st?  During the holidays people tend to overeat, drink and be merry.  Well, why just a week later put such commitments?  I think resolutions are highly overrated, especially ones made January 1st.  Why not make them on some other date?  People are capable of change 365 a year.
